I was just wondering if anyone knew of developments in the CFO search.  As a reminder the position will be vacated this Friday (Feb. 24).  While the Dean positions may or may not experience transition in the weeks to come, this critical position will. 

In case some of you don't get it, this will impact all of you no matter what school you are in!  I suppose that no search will be conducted.  Apparently SFT is completely oblivious to the fact that this position should not be filled by just any old business person.  Just like hospital or manufacturing organizations would not hire a CFO who did not know their industry, a university is a very complex business and USM would be remiss if it does not hire a person who has experience in this field.  Given the aftermath of Katrina and USM's perilous state, this decision could not be more critical.
