Information is coming from the CoB stating that the MIS program was cut the other day. The opportunity for MIS to "make the case" for their degree, which they were given 7 days to do, was given only to provide cover for the decision already sitting on SFT's desk.
This may be of interest to you guys. I heard today that Harold Doty may be moved to the Coast campus in an administrative capacity, possibly involving the economic development group. This is part of the plan about Dr. Shadad and the CFO position in Hattiesburg. I don't know what this means about a business school dean though.

Jenny, your post is music to my ears. That is because I heard something close to this today and dismissed it completely. Now I am not so sure. The extra part that I heard is that a small group of faculty in business are meeting with Thames and Grimes very soon to see if they can "live with" the replacement that the President and Provost have picked.
It may be happening. This is indeed very positive news.
From what I've heard, cutting the MIS program is but one act regarding Doty and the Dome. There are other issues that Doty hasn't yet presented to the CoB faculty that have been put to SFT for his approval already. But don't fret, CoBsters, you know you can trust Doty when he says that he's a big believer in faculty votes.
Tim Hudson would kick the $#!t out of Doty. He wouldn't know what hit him. He can't even handle his associate dean and TH makes him look like a novice at game playing. I knew TH for about ten years before he left and there's no better game player on campus. You notice that he escaped USM relatively unscathed.
