USM lost at Houston tonight, falling to 7-11 on the season.  Next up is a visit from Memphis on Saturday.

This is one that got away. Tonights game is a true measuring stick. When Southern starts to win these close games on the road it will be a competitive basketball team. Unfortunately for Southern the current trend may continue for quite some time.

On a more positive note, Delta State is now #14 in the nation.  DSU is led by former Eagle Jasper Johnson, who was harrassed to leave the USM team by Larry Eustachy (who supposedly knows what he's doing).  Jasper's left shortly after he produced a double-double in a big win over LSU.  Eustachy's program has gone south (to something like a 9-26 record) since Jasper went north.
