So let's try to understand this.  The registrars office sends an email to the dean's office of people who have not turned in grades.  Someone in the office gets the email and has two choices: take the time to write each individual faculty member on the list or forward the the college list serve.  <SARCASM>Wow, we can definitely rule laziness out.</SARCASM>

I think you've left one administrator choice out: don't bother to forward them on. It takes a conscious decision to hit the forward button. That same conscious decision could be to not forward the emails. When a decision has to be made, it ends up being a CYA move from an admin.

And yes, getting one of these every day (or multiple of these in one day) all during finals week is unnecessary. There used to be a time when USM had some administrators with some judgment.
