I'm sure the bank president has some reason to think professors are time wasters.
The bank president doesn't complain when those professors have their checks direct deposited in his bank; or applies for a mortgage; or finances an automobile.
You should be especially cautious, Professor Beckett. You're one of the ones my walking friend knows by sight. Now, back to work!
Ah, the price of fame! Thanks for the warning LVN! Henceforth I will follow my own suggestions and be an inconpicuous as possible while indulging in a "good walk spoiled" (aka golf). Now back to work on those journal publications.
That should have been "be as inconspicuous as possible" in the last comment. If anyone sees someone that looks like me playing golf this weekend at Shadow Ridge Golf Course keep in mind that sometimes someone who looks amazingly like me goes out there, plays badly, and then rants and raves and acts way too conspicuously. Pay no attention to that person! I hope you all have a good weekend.
Glad to know that you've seen the light. If, in your newfound shame, you should find that your vehicle is too ostentatious, I've got a junker you can borrow which would be more appropriate for a humble professor. I don't know where you live; but you might want to consider trading down. Professors--especially those who have the sensitivity to play golf incognito--shouldn't live in upscale neighborhoods.
