I couldn't access through my Eudora at home, but at first thought it was the "usual" ....server down.....that seems to occur intermittently 15 to 20 times a day....but then I noticed the error message from Eudora was different and that it specified something with my mailbox being locked and even referred to my emplID. I then went directly into mail throught the web and got the same "fatal error" message you referred to........I then thought it was something wrong my my own particular mailbox or something.....just noticed about an hour or so ago that all is back to normal.....for the time being............but then again, by now I guess everyone knows this.....

I've been able to get on webmail for several hours now, or at least have been able to at the times I've logged on. You might want to try again.

Hmmm . . . I can't get through at all on Outlook . . . . and haven't been able to since this morning

Maybe no connection at all (Invictus could tell us) but MS issued a patch for a pretty serious security hole yesterday. Would they take down the whole mail system for something like that?
(If you have any MS OS at all, even Win 95 or 98 you should run Update at once and then do a virus scan.)

Surely faculty are not still using their USM email account except for the most mundane things.

The fatal error refers to the fact that Shelby's hooked into reading your email. What a joke! You can't imagine how we became the butt of this joke by not frying Shelby's broad *ss over this earlier snooping. And we think GW Bush is an outlaw with his snooping through NSA!
