...SACS, the accrediting body for colleges and universities in 11 Southern states, at its annual meeting earlier this month gave Belhaven officials one year to fix the problems. Belhaven "failed to demonstrate compliance" with several requirements at two satellite campuses that serve nontraditional students, according to a public disclosure statement from SACS.
Included were requirements that the school adequately measure its effectiveness, have enough full-time faculty members for the number of students and have adequate library facilities. All of the problems are at campuses in Orlando, which opened six years ago, and Houston, which opened in June....
