What happened to this AAUP Board? The threads have become CRAP. We have threads attacking and/or defending the following individuals: Doty, A.Dvorak, M.Dvorak, B Ginn, K. Malone and A.K. Lucas, not to mention SFT's sons. Intelligent people discuss ideas, not people. Is this a new kind of troll?
A lot of faculty and staff at USM, present and former, have been mistreated and hurt by "people." Sometimes that requires that perpetrators be subjected to the light of day.
Please see my response to the poster purporting to be Mark Dvorak, on the thread called "ADP" Of course the COB stuff goes on and on. They need their own board.
Yes, I see you beat me to identifying that troll. What about all of the others? CoB seems to be manufacturing them.

I agree that the threads directed toward individuals need to be helf to a minimum. However, many times, these threads are redirected, and ideas, concepts, plans, and other worthwhile things take over the thread. This is called rethreading by an imposter.

I've long suspected that a high percentage of our "old school trolls" were CoB alumni. In that sense, they've been cranking out trolls longer than there's been an Internet.

Yes. Let's preserve this board for only issues that affect the CoAL...like problems with Pood or ways Thames has screwed the arts. CoB discussions are petty because they are based on issues of intimidation, dirty dealing, violation of procedure, bastardization of the hiring process, cronyism, and a cowboy dean who can't keep his foot out of his mouth.
If Pood had behaved exactly as Doty has, the CoAL would be set aflame. When CoB posters shine light on the dirty issues, posters from CoAL, CoST, etc., dismiss the issues as irrelevant. Let me remind you that CoB faculty voted no confidence in Thames, CoB faculty senators voted no confidence in Thames, CoB PUC members spoke out on behalf of academic freedom and shared governance, and CoB faculty worked as best they could to try to open the eyes of the business community to Thames' failings and deeds. Yet CoB issues are continually brushed aside.

I too find this board boring of late. Too many trolls and not enough substance. I will check in now and then to see if it is worth reading, but for now I'm out of here.
