That's right. The Thames boys used their 1/2 of the plane to bring in some bidness associates...a Mr. Meredith from Jackson was one. Saw them dining at the PP as well.

Exactly which half of the USM plane do the boys own? I'd think aft of the wings would be fitting. Do they bring along their own cocktail waitresses, er, flight attendants, for these bidness trips, or does USM provide them?

When you mention the "Thames boys," are you speaking of SFT's sons, the two Hattiesburg/Laurel dentists? Please pardon my ignorance but what do they have to do with the USM airplane? Do they really own a half interest? Is that even legal?

Is it legal? Surely you jest. We're talking about Thames and USM, and USM's plane. Why would any of them care if it's legal? When has that ever been a concern about anything?
...The Southern Miss Athletic Foundation has partnered with two lawyers to purchase an airplane that will be used for player recruiting and possibly by Southern Miss academic departments as well.
For $317,000, the Athletic Foundation bought a third of a Beechcraft King Air 200, said Director of Athletics Richard Giannini. One of the lawyers was from Hattiesburg, but Giannini declined to release the names of either of the other two owners....
I wonder what "academic departments" have actually been able to use this plane? Ah, I can just see it now -- a trip to an academic conference, on poetry or sociology lets say, aboard USM 1.

What is a co-pilot of a half-plane called? Stupid. Which half of de plane does USM own...bow or aft, port or starboard? The 4th tier of each of the above. Do the parachutes on de 1/2 plane come in two parts? No. There are no bailouts at USM. Passengers pushed out without notice. If you use the ejection seat from a half-plane do you stop half way to the ground? Yes. The hot air from Hardy Street keeps you suspended indefinitely. If de 1/2 plane was painted with American Pride paint, what colors would be appropriate? Soylant Green. If Rudolph the Rednosed Reinder saw de half-plane, what would he say? "Check the rack on that one!" What would the passengers on de 1/2 plane be called if they flew over both the North and South Poles? Wurl' Class Wurl' Pass.......
USM "owns" half the plane (and presumably pays half the pilot's fees, half the maintenance, etc.) so the Thames boys can write off their private plane. I don't think a plane quite qualifies as a tax deductible business expense for dentists, but a donation to the university would be tax deductible. Makes sense to me. Probably makes sense to their CPA as well. And who would that be?
USM needs an airplane like I need another USM degree.
