From the current issue of the USM Alumni magazine:
Green Bay is Title Town, Nashville is Music City, and an alumnus who is a Gulf Coast advertising executive hopes to celebrate and promote all the things that make Hattiesburg a "premier college environment" through the launch of his new brand "College City, Mississippi." http://www.collegecitymississippi.com/

RE: Alumnus Renames Hattiesburg "College City, Mississippi"
At least they had the good taste to take the pictures in the North End Zone! And 206 Front, Coney Island, . . . and the alley between City Hall and Geiger Printing.
Coney Island and 206 Front were excellent choices. They present an ambience of the community and they have been two of my favorite eating establishments. I don't know the significance of the alley between City Hall and Geiger Printing but whoever did the photos for the site had good taste.
That chick is hot. Lord, I wish I were 22 and in college again - I'd tap into that ASAP.
Walt Denton - wasn't he that local toolshed Sigma Chi guy back in the early 90's? I have to give him credit for trying to advance the university, even if it is in his own interest.

What a funny post. No one gives out awards on these anymore, but that one is worthy of some kind of award that Invictus can give out.

Isn't she the young lady who's Shelby's new Director of Public Relations, the one who replaced Mader? I think I recognize some of those photos from her USM employment application packet.

No she isn't and that isn't even funny. Give the new director a chance before writing silly garbage like this. She's a lovely woman and I find this kind of discussion totally inappropriate. However, I'm sure there are plenty of men out there who might think Margie is "hot."
I got to wondering about "Margie" so I figured a look at the USM PR Dept website was in order. Clicked on "contacts" and found a nice listing of a whole bunch of folks, but no one named Margie (who I am figuring is this new director and low-key replacement for the departed Lisa Slay Mader.)
What I did find was the odd fact that on the homepage of the PR Site there is a picture of Oseola McCarty with her name spelled wrong in the caption. (Check the spelling here if you are in doubt.) My spelling ain't nothing to write home about, but I believe I'd get it right on my homepage for somebody that gave me $150,000.

Dont you wish all work was done as fast as the repair to the webpage? it only took 16 minutes to fix the misspelled name.

It's not that odd to me. This just demonstrates the administration's ongoing interest in monitoring this message board. Apparently the new PR hottie is watching, or reading. I'm pleased to see that she or one of her minions is on the job.

Wow. Somebody is paying attention after all.
Now, for another odd observation. Let's just say someone was to click on the newly repaired link. They will go to this page. They read down to the bottom of the page, and they decide they want more information about Miss McCarty. Whose e-mail link will they find?
