SHSU wins by 4.  USM falls to 2-5 on the young season.  Thanks SFT, you're the best!

today's sagarin had SHSU at 123 and USM at 300.  given the discrepancy, a 4 point loss is a respectable showing.  if the poor kids playing on this team can avoid being humiliated most of the time, that's probably about the best that can be hoped for.  being overmatched and undercoached makes for a long season.  they'd be having a lot more fun as a team in a decent naia league.

Haven't posted in quite a while, but I had to ask a question:

How pitiful is your NCAA Division I-A basketball program when people are attempting to justify a loss to an NAIA team?

When a college debate team or ome other academic competitors lose a match, I see nobody getting their feathers in a frenzy. But lose a few football or basketball games and a certain segment goes ballistics. This is merely an observation. I do not wish to debate this.

You might want to check your facts before posting. Sam Houston State is not an NAIA team, they are a member of the Southland Conference. They currently have a win over Missouri this year (at Missouri) the pre-seaon NIT tournament.

The exodus of players will begin over the holidays.  LE's kids come from far and wide.  Some won't decide to stick around any longer once the holidays get here.  He lost all the players he signed last year by the beginning of this academic year.
