It has been said that Thames promised to fire Bower for finishing anywhere below 9-2. With yesterday's loss to Houston, a 7-4 reg season finish is the best possible. And, it looks like the first ever C-USA Championship Game will be played without USM. [41 vote(s)]

If he does, it will be one more horrible PR move. There are lots of people who love Bower and who believe USM (Southern Miss?) was lucky to have him.

Maybe we should hope that he does and that next year our Eagles go 0-11. Just a joke. Though I'm far away, I follow the Eagles closely and always root for them.

Keep Bower.  Fire the defensive coordinator.  Every team we play lately enjoys a record-setting performance by its runningback.  The defense isn't up to par under Jay Hopson's leadership.

If Bower gets rid of his defensive coordinator will he set some kind of all time mark for coordinator firing?  Seems like it happens every year around here.

Jeff Bower's reign of mediocrity will end soon. Of course you realize that means a rogue football coach as well as a rogue basketball coach. Wonder if Jackie Sherrill wants to come south....
