After reading this article and the one from last week that was in the Student Printz I am convinced that Mr. Krebs has been around Shelby too much. His story keeps changing. First the problems were because of the ADP, now it's being 21. How about this is the wrong event at the wrong location. Mr. Krebs says that this is for Black and Gold weekend and they want to make the city shine for prospective students; wrong - you need to sell the prospective students on campus life first, the city should not be the first consideration. The truth is that Eaglepalooza should be held on campus but they could not sell beer there. If I were a parent of a prospective student, I would eliminate USM from the mix right now. The head of student government is working hard to put on an event whose purpose is to provide beer to underage attendees. This is called "contributing to the delinquincy of a minor". The associated liability for the University should something happen to a prospective student ought to make those that oversee student government to pull the plug. If they won't, the city council must.

Don't worry, Gatoreagle. Your "university" will get its 20,000 students. However, 15,000 of them will be online and your precious football stadium expansion will be a miserable failure. Maybe Thames will come up with a webcast ticket package where you get to pay $50 for a season pass to watch USM blow games against the likes of Tulsa. I doubt even that ticket package would sell out.
Most parents who care about their child's education have already eliminated USM from contention. They didn't need to hear Krebs' hare-brained statements.
