Looks like anybody truly wanting out will have to step back to a teaching job elsewhere and start over.
And what they need to do now is what should have done from the very beginning: resist any attempt to erode estalished academic principles and standards, and support faculty endeavors in that regard.

Our best faculty members have had no trouble getting other, significantly better positions. I think EP's propensity to change jobs every four years is catching up with him. He's never stayed long enough in an administrative position to deal with the consequences of his decisions.
