The quality debate faculty have already left USM or were fired tenured faculty members. We had some good debate teamers at USM, but they were recently kicked off the team for posting to this message board. Team rules, boards like this where intellectual street brawls can be found are off limits. These student-debaters could not resist, sadly Another controversy, we have a blue-chip debater joining us this year, but he has a sordid past, pulling a gun on an opponent in the US high school national debate chamionship after he thought he might lose. His defense was quite logical, might makes right, just look at how the government works. He actually ended up winning believe it or not, but the Ivy league schools saw him as tainted. So USM thought they could bring him to the Harvard of Hardy, not of Hattiesburg mind you, William Carey and Anotelli are fighting for this now. His arrival on campus is very controversial, but we expect a chamionship out of this fellow. Logic is for the weak. You only argue when you are weak.

What tenured faculty were "fired"?? There was an attempt to fire G & S, but they were not actually fired.
