I'm amazed that the IHL doesn't have guidelines in place for this sort of thing. Does anyone know of anything? I guess Ross just wouldn't have ignored them, but this truly is amazing. Dare I say "only in Mississippi?"
Question wrote: Was Bobby Chain mayor of Hattiesburg before , during or after he was on the IHL Board? Good question. I don't know the answer but hope someone on the board does.
Bobby Chain served on the IHL Board from 1972 to 1984, and was elected Hattiesburg mayor in 1980.
the northeast mississippi daily journal wrote a story about a possible conflict of interest shortly after ross was elected. i tried, unsuccessfully, to find the story written by capitol bureau reporter bobby harrison. if i remember right, this is permissible in mississippi.
I interpret Ross's election as mayor as a positive. He has been able to pursuade 50% plus one voters in his town that he is a capable leader. Who would vote for Roy Klumb?
