"Green coached Southern Miss to 123 wins and 109 losses in eight seasons, including a 22-9 mark and a Conference USA co-championship in 2001."
Congratulations Coach Green! You left USM as a winner, as did the academic winners that were also chased away. Next: Let's put Valley on USM's basketball schedule ASAP.
It will be very interesting to see if our current coach can do as well. However, by the time that rolls around USM will be in such deep poop overall that we'll have more to worry about than comparing basketball coach records.

Not to mention that James Green won games in a real conference with some very good basketball programs. Starting this year, Conference USA is a joke in almost all respects. No Louisville, no Cincinnati. If Larry Eustachy wins this year, you can chalk some of that up to playing in this new Mickey Mouse conference.
