I know several of us often wonder about problems and anger in the business college. Heard last night that all faculty and staff there will go through a team building camp in August (4 shifts, three-quarters of a day each) under Doty's order/advisement.
This should clean up some problems there. They should be getting their e-mailed instructions soon, so I'm sure one of them will fill us all in on the details of the trust-building exercises.
Oh yeah...that'll fix everything...They'll go climb a couple of trees with their "team's assistance." Maybe have a group hug...sign a couple of songs...then go back to the same old organizational culture working for the same old administrators with their same old management styles and be much happier and more productive.
Course...if you were an administrator of a division in a university which has received international attention for its problems, you'd need to document that you'd done something to improve functioning. Whether it actually really does improve functioning would be very difficult to determine...but you can document that you did something, and then argue that things are better since no one can "prove" their has been no improvement...at least you could argue this to outsiders

Hey! That's how we do it down here, and it works for us!
They tried the team climbing and rope swing approach in the past for the MBA students. Another org. behavior down the sewer. Maybe the faculty and staff this August can sit around a campfire and sing songs! What are Doty's favorites? Those will be the ones we will use. Wonder if we have to a permit to build a fire under the Oak at Long Beach? I can see us know as we sway from side to side. Wonder how the rope walk will work for the online E-MBA? Will our org. behavior guru be in charge?

Fires are no problem in my neighborhood. As for songs, we've found that "Kumbyah" works well; the irony always cracks us up.

I think they were talking about building fires.
Building fires? Cryptic, but I do understand, and I know I can help. Please have the afflicted individuals make appointments with my assistant. I am a medical doctor, and they can be assured that everything will be kept completely confidential. I feel certain that we'll have them all generating heat in no time.
