I spoke with a long-time (about 20 years) member of the CoB yesterday. He said that treatment of the CoB staff by the most recent group of administrators is as bad as it has ever been, and consequently staff moral there is as low as ever.
I know we like to kick the CoB threads around a bit, but his description of these things sounded terrible.
I heard that Doty wrote "I do not concur. The process is flawed. HD" on the bottom of each staff member's evaluation. Apparently he thought the department chairmen had rated staff too highly. At least two are now considering other opportunities because of this.
Doty is using people to play games with his vita. Just another example of his "me first" attitude with respect to everything.
I have heard the same in JGH the past few days. Staff are unhappy. But they are learning that the evaluation process is being used by Doty to further his career as he has been doing with several faculty issues. So now JGH is one big unhappy family.

The Dome should look favorably on a college where the staff has low moral (sic) standards
I live in a neighbourhood near a couple of CoB profs, and they have independently invited me to future "Doty Got Fired" parties at their respective houses, with the date to be determined. It looks like I may need to pick out an outfit.

I have a close friend at Syracuse University (Doty's former school) who told me that she knew Doty when he was there and this type of behavior is consistent with his actions at Syracuse. He uses people to set himself up for better things, regardless of the impact it has on others. The story about staff evaluations shows that he will disrupt the lives of the staff to (1) prove a point to his chairs and (2) affect a change in the staff evaluation system. That way, he can check the box on his vita that says "While at USM, I revamped the staff evaluation process" so that he'll look like he actually knows what it's like to be a dean. He's not a nice person.
Airmen Cecil and O'Malley will testify that Doty mistreated CoB staff. But, before we get to them, we should ask Doty if he ordered the Code Red on a departmental chair last week.
Doty was "ejected" from the Dome this afternoon. Full story tonight I suppose.
Maybe HD is gone. Then what? Some nitwit like Mr. Lassen, followed by yet another nitwit, ad nasueum. Somebody should remember to buy the AACSB consultant some antidepressant medication and the subsequent visitation team some large drinks. I forgot about the SACS consultant, but that poor person has larger fish to fry.
Too bad there's still the remnants of a decent college amid the rubble.
Can someone confirm that Doty is back to the faculty? Heard so tonight, but have gotten no verification. There is no news on HA P.M. Update yet. Any press release or e-mail message someone can report on?

You want me in the Dean's Office. You need me in the Dean's Office.
I saw the Doty washing his car today. He was sad and I couldn't tell if there were tears rolling down his cheeks or the hose had sprayed in his face. Students will enjoy taking his classes.
Nobody can answer the question except possibly Doty and Domers. We are waiting on confirmation from a source other than Doty, unless he decides to notify his faculty.

Let me guess....you lean to the left....hate the free market system, and believe the government should take care of everyone.
Your Business, I hope you meant the poster after me. No, I believe in business -- done ethically.
Enron Edith, if you think business people are maggots, what do you suggest as an alternative? Collectivism does not have a particularly good track record.
