The ADP was presented on Friday with a federal tax lien. Talk about great "bidness" management! I'm sure Angie will try to pass the blame to someone else, but (much like a SACS probation) a federal tax lien doesn't appear out of nowhere. It typically follows several written warnings.

Until the source of this information and evidence is provided, I consider this bogus. I will gladly admit I'm wrong when evidence is provided. In the mean time I use the standard operational procedure for processing information.
Please elaborate. Is the lien for unpaid payroll taxes? I thought the ADP was a non-profit, but I don't really know. Please share what you know
This I don't know yet. But the report has been verified by local bankers who get reports of such matters. It's also public record and can be confirmed at the courthouse.
If the local bankers are making these statements and there is no public record of a lien, then ADP and Angie will have a cause of action against these fine institutions.
It becomes more apparent that these people that want(ed) to run USM like a business, have little or no business savy, which is why they remain in goverment type jobs.

I disagree, TW, for the very reason that USM Alum cites. AD wasn't qualified to be VP of Research, and she isn't qualified to head the ADP. In both instances, her relationship to Thames has gotten her into positions (pardon the pun) that have cost others money, time, and unnecessary aggravation.
Glad you thought something of the CN quote. No matter what anybody says, he's in full-tilt support SFT mode.

I was wrong. "In the Know" nailed it. In the Know, do you work for a news agency?

I had a hunch this was a payroll tax issue. Payroll tax screwups are caused by two things: 1. Outright larcency--usually a failing small business owner who pockets the tax. 2. Outright incompetence. It is ultimately a process of filing out the forms and making the payment.
You have to really screw up to for the IRS to send an agent down to file a lien. I would guess that the ADP's books are in complete dissaray.
These "business" types like to brag that they can run universities because they have had to make a payroll. Well, AD, you can't even do that without screwing it up.
Two thumbs up for the aaup board as the place with the breaking news!
Could it be that Mr. Nicholson was contacted because one of his partners is Vice Chair of the ADP?
BTW, his whole routine about how transactions made after 2 PM may not be credited until the next day is kind of funny. You don't have to be an accountant to know that. In fact, in my student days, I wrote a lot of rubber checks after 5 PM knowing I could beat them to the bank the next day. But if Luigi's kneecapper (or in the federal sense, the IRS) expects cash on the barrel on Friday, you don't hand him a check at 4:30 that afternoon.
But, hey, they're running the ADP like a bidness! Last minute tax payments & everything!

It appears as if your gal Angie may not have a cause of action after all.
I am curious about the "error in an electronic transfer of the money." Apparently some sort of technology failure.

Access to information does not mean good insight or motives. In the (don't) Know has a personal agenda. Maybe a quote will help. In Stephen Carter's book, The Emperor of Ocean Park, he defines the term this way: Nowotny interference - In the composiiton of chess problems, a theme in which to black pieces obstruct one another's ability to protect vital squares.
Very interesting book. Read it when it came out 2-4 years ago. Didn't need that kind of explanation...just what is ITK's agenda??

Suffice it to say internecine warfare. For more than that, you'll have to do your own homework Sweet Stuff, I wasn't addressing you.
So the only person on the thread who did address your first post isn't worthy of a response?

NI,
I didn't say a thing about ITK's motives. I suspect ITK wants administrative control of as much of USM as possible--and only a complete fool would let ITK get this.
It's just that, in the recent past, ITK made other declarations that were either impossible to verify or didn't check out.

Of course she will, and who can blame her. After all, she pumped her resume' with a Thomas Cooley law degree, not an accounting degree. http://groups-beta.google.com/group/bit.listserv.lawsch-l/browse_frm/thread/4e850bc6bac1402d/1e3b98ba75850976?q=%22angie+dvorak%22&rnum=2&hl=en#1e3b98ba75850976
From the 1994 interview linked above--Angie Dvorak: "I'm a professor at MSU (Michigan State University)."
Is this true? When, and professor of what? Did this pre-date her being a tenured professor at the U. of Kentucky?

Oh now don't let facts get in the way of some good juicy gossip. You have never let that stop you before.
This is the first time I've posted under this name. I live in Hattiesburg, am not employed by USM but am an alum who wants to see it prosper. My personal agenda is only that I want Thames removed so that we can begin to pick up the pieces behind him. I post from time to time under two or three different names because I don't want to give away my identity to the local trolls on this board. I didn't realize when I started this thread that there was already an ITK posting. I obviously won't use the name again.
I don't have sinister motives. I merely wanted the ADP story to break on this board to give the board an extra dose of credibility. I think this story is newsworthy because of AD's connection to Thames since she wouldn't be in the ADP position without his enormous, misplaced influence. She's obviously in over her head. USM has already suffered because of her; now the ADP apparently will, as well.
