College system braces for hit
The numbers for anticipated university cuts "staggering"


Mississippi's university system is bracing for nearly 400 layoffs, more than 500 discontinued courses and the shuttering of at least 35 degree programs over the next three years....

Given this, why would Southern Miss not ask for the largest possible tuition increase available?  Southern Miss needs all the money it can get.  If this makes Southern Miss have the highest tuition of any university in the state, so what?  President Saunders should simply smile and tell them we are worth it.
