In fact, USM has applied for membership in the IGAA -- the Intergalactic Athletic Association.
While I am in agreement with the overall premise of the letter, I am baffled at its cause.
The goal cited -- that nonsense about building "the finest athletics program in the country" -- and the website linked in the online version, refer to the "Win-Win campaign that ended when the bond proposal was defeated in November 2004, a good seven months ago. Why are we talking about this dead issue again?
Of course, I also wonder why the site is still up and running. There's some good server space being wasted somewhere.
