Yes, Doty will soon not be called Dean.

Gee, and all this time I thought he was called Harold.

The new story is one of Thames triumph, much different plot than Doty's own earlier attempts to vacate the Hub city.

One of my best friends is an academic headhunter. She called me the other day to ask about CoB Dean Duane Harold Doty. I surmised that his job search may have hit high gear. She promised to check on whether an "order" has been placed with her firm for a Business Dean for USM.

Might this be the North Florida situation, or the North Texas one?  Holy cow.

At this time,  Dr. Thames and I have not decided whether to allow Dr. Doty to continue as Dean.  Dr. Doty's loyalty to the administration  and his committment to the principles of shared governance which Dr. Thames holds so dear  are in question and being re-evaluated by an ad hoc committee consisting of myself,  Dr. Greg Lassen, Dr. Dana Thames, and Dr. W.J. Johnson.  Be assured that an announcement will be made as soon as a decision is reached.  Thank you for your patience and understanding during these trying times.

K. Malone, for the President

Congratulations, grasshopper.  It's marketing's turn to run the college.  Stop by and pick up your black belt.

ItV, then where will Doty go?  I can't make heads or tails out of this.  I must be a yellow belt I guess.

Wasn't it Carl Douglas who did Kung Fu fighting?  Marilyn McCoo was with the Fifth Dimension if I'm not mistaken.  I saw them perform as the opening act for Tiny Tim in 1969 or 70.

And I recall seeing Tiny Tim on either the Jack Parr or the Johnny Carson show . . . singing "Tiptoe through the Tulips."

Alvin Williams has had an opportunity to place himself in the running for Dean before and choose not to apply. While anything is possible, I get the feeling that he wants to spend more time with his family, friends, and his church.

Yes, Dr. Williams could have been dean any time he wanted to be it.  No doubt he probably could be president, the finest one USM ever had.  I agree with Cosaack, I would bet against Alvin signing up for an even larger and more thankless administrative task, especially with AACSB looming.  He's given much to USM and I think he wants to enjoy other parts of his life.  But who knows, right?  I wouldn't get your hopes up though.

Yes, but Marilyn McCoo was one of the hosts of the TV show "Solid Gold" -- see my moniker??

I read about Marilyn in my History class - "Marilyn McCoo and Tyler Too." Or maybe Tyler was her co- host. I forget.
