Is there a way to stop the "tracking cookies" that seem to be accompanying this website? I ran Ad-Ware SE from LavaSoft (free) this morning and cleaned out the tracking cookies, then visited this site, ran the program, and had 8 tracking cookies after visiting.
The only way I know is to switch the browser you use. I would suggest switching a Mozilla browser like Firefox. Here's the link, once you go Mozilla you'll never use Explorer again.
I also use Mozilla Firefox, but you will still get some cookies. Go into Tools, Options, and set cookies to receive from the originating website only -- that'll cut down on a lot. Still need to run Ad-Aware weekly, as well as install one of the good anti-spyware programs (I use PestPatrol) -- pay the money and get a good one. Also keep your Norton anti virus subscription current and set it to update automatically and to scan weekly.
A few websites (one from my health insurer for example) will not function with Firefox and you'll have to use IE. After you leave, run your cleanup programs.

Wow, LVN! I'm even more impressed with you now than I already had been! Since when did you become a techno-geek? I'm envious!
Thanks, USM-S, but not me -- my kid, who was just named Security Analyst of the Quarter (or something like that) for his company -- big company, you'd know their name. He does systems security for a living. I'm glad I raised him to be so smart!!
