Word from today's PUC
Permalink Closed

Hard copies of "A Work in Progress" were available for inspection.  It was stated/reported that about $14,000 has so far been spent producing the document.  Word is that the PUC membership is evolving into a pro-SFT group.  Today's meeting was over by 8:00am.

Yang,

How would the PUC be converted into a pro-SFT group, without restricting its membership to administrators?

Robert Campbell

PS. If Thames himself believed that the PUC was in his pocket, he'd convene meetings every two weeks. He'd also let them run longer, because he wouldn't be afraid of inconvenient questions.

I am reporting what I was told, that many of the "staff" and some faculty act pro-SFT at the meetings now.  Don't forget that the PUC has several staff people there, and some administrators (as you point out).

Yang,

Judging from Myron Henry's report (on another thread), the PUC hasn't gone all-Thames yet.

How it behaves in the future depends on who the various faculty bodies appoint...

Of course, rumor just a few weeks ago had it that Thames was going to get rid of the PUC, because he was either going to get 4 more years (in which case he wouldn't need it to make the IHL Board happy) or he wasn't (in which case he'd prefer to do maximum damage for 9 to 12 months without having to meet with people who might ask impertinent questions).

You are so silly. No agenda items were submitted other than Henry's pitiful data requests.  The PC ended after 45 minutes.  Lots of time for questions...very few.  Speak up if you have questions i

More is happening right now than the naysayers want to admit. But, naysayers continue to contribute to the Board. We do know how scared you are.

Then by all means, contact AAUP and make your own presentation.
