JoJo: You need to "Get Facts before opeining mouth!!" We were in such bad shape technology-wise pre-Fleming, that we wouldn't even be ABLE to do many of the things we are doing now if we hadn't made some leaps in technology while Fleming was here. Basic things such as online class registration.

I was no fan of Fleming's technology czar--he was one of the most arrogant sobs that I've ever met--but some really important and necessary things were done with our technology infrastructure while he and Fleming were here. Did it put us in the red? Possibly, I don't know. But if it hadn't been done then, you can bet your bippy that Thames would be doing it now and calling it progress.

You are clearly mouthing what you've been told and you don't understand a bit of it.

The FACTS are that the university CAN'T operate in the red. State law doesn't allow it. Blacksmith Dews has just added one more lie on top of an already tall heap from the Thames administration.

What was it that Thames accomplished with the half a million or million (can't remember now) Pileum contract besides monitoring faculty and student e-mail?

Shelby's whole gig is political. It has nothing to do with his ability to be a university president. Bryant is playing the game that all politicians play: If he doesn't, he gets unelected & doesn't have a paying job. Simple as that. Shelby says, "I'll help you get elected" & Bryant says, "I'll do what it takes, sir."

What's so complex about that.

Phil Bryant needs to try being business manager at a junior college somewhere. I figure he'd last about 2 years...

You are dead wrong. All Fleming's budgets were in the black. that's a bunch of bulls@@t, and you know it. Sounds like the Dews line. Or maybe Crandall Howell. Anybody heard from him? Remember him? He's the guy pictured in the American the day Shelby was announced hugging his new king and sobbing. Anybody heard from Howell recently? This "red" stuff is crap. Make them prove it!

Just remember who the leadership group was that orchestrated Fleming's ouster, and it just becomes a bit clearer:Mixon, Howell, Bobby Dews, Nicholson, Billy Hewes Senior on the coast, the Warrens, and the Gianninis. Making sense now? They got Fleming simply because of athletics. I cannot believe what the Dome Gnome is getting away with! Just proves the initial conspiracy. These guys--and especially the IHL group--will let Thames get away with just about anything the HGB Mafia and Bidness community will approve.
