I suspect the "deal" is that these people think she can beat Mr. Dupree. It's interesting who is supporting her vs. Mr. Davis. An odd combination of supporters! I think all it says is that our USM situation is not as big a deal for the mayoral race as other things are.
Rowell's support ($) is very weird. Comes from all sides. What's the deal?
It happens all the time in politics. The SFT backers will hedge their bets by giving to the two candidates that support SFT. Semme is self supporting, and Dupree cannot be bought by that crowd.

You're right on here LVN. The mayoral race is not about the university.
Vote your convictions and forget about who others are supporting. The contributations data, while interesting, does not seem very useful in making the decision as to who to vote for.
It is interesting that the anti SFT sentiment has appeared to weaken. There is one clear candidate that we know will not quickly be a SFT pawn, Johnny Dupree. Why equivocate about if other candidates will be SFT supporters?

Question: Are any of these donors actually Oak Grovicans? How many actually reside within the city limits of Hattiesgulch?
What I find a bit interesting for a university town the size of Hattiesburg is the complete dearth of Libertarians, Greens & other "fringe" party candidates.

Our fair city may be short on Libertarians, but we've met a Libertine or two in our travels around town.
