Aren't these the procedures that required bribing students to get them to be used? The email to me indicated that "students using the online course evaluation system would be entered into a drawing" for some electronic device (maybe an iPod?). If "online evaluation" is such a great thing, then why does it require these incentives to use it?
Nevermind, I remember now -- if we make faculty fill in online Annual Evaluation forms, then we must also have online evaluations! It's just another step to "online U" -- online courses, online tests, online grading, . . .
The "University of Phoenix" business model continues.
I heard that a student in Greene Hall took a dump in the back of an auditorium classroom over there last week (supposedly a true story). That's about all I know about evals so far this year.
I've tried to use the online evaluation site they created, but when I try to sign on, it does nothing. The directions say if you can't sign on with one password (last 4 digits of your SS#), that you should try the four digit year of your birth. Neither worked. It doesn't even tell you it's the wrong password, it doesn't do anything at all. A friend of mine said he's had the same problem.

Obviously, they didn't hire me to design the system.
You have got to remember to put your ID# and SS# in all caps just like you do for Soar. Don't know if this is the problem or not but I didn't have any trouble. They didn't have a place for remarks this year and some of the questions I didn't think were worded very well.
Online eval system was closed once finals began. Reports will be out in about two weeks. Individual reports go to faculty and aggregate reports go to chairs and deans. Committee of faculty senate and council of chairs will evaluate system in June. They may decide to try some new things for summer, etc.
