Let me ask their permission first...we are also thinking of including former staff members, as well.

Perhaps there could be two letters -- one from faculty and one from staff -- if this would not be too difficult to do. Two letters would have twice the impact, and a letter from staff might help make it clear that it is not only the so-called "whiny, lazy faculty" who are dissatisfied with Shelby.

Has anyone contacted Gerald Mattson and Denis Wisenburg? They both are gone but were on faculty senate last year. Perhaps neither reads the board, but there is a good change that either or both would sign.

Someone might look on the faculty senate website and find out who was on the senate for the last three years who might has left. Many of them (besides the two mentioned) might want to sign. I just don't know folks other than in my area.

Also, though she may want to be competely out of this and above the fray, I know that Marie Farrell was humiliated and disgusted when she left. She might sign. A powerful name. Anyone know how to get in touch with her?

We've had a great response from folks across all disciplines...don't want to give away any names at this point (you'll have to wait for the letter to come out!). Thanks to all who have responded so far, and please tell other colleagues to contact me ASAP if they want to sign on!

Gerry is at the University of Central Florida (the largest university in the Florida system!). He should be easy to find. I also would bet Ray Folse knows where he is . . . . maybe?
