COMMISSIONER SEARCH COMMITTEE TO MEET

4/1/2005 (JACKSON, MISS. ) -

The Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) commissioner search committee will meet Friday, April 8, 2005, to outline the position description and the search process for finding a permanent commissioner.  The meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the 9th floor board room of the IHL building located at 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson. 
 
Representatives from Greenwood & Associates, Inc. will conduct an orientation and guide the Board through the development of the position description and search process. 

Members of the search committee include Virginia Shanteau Newton (Chair), Ed Blakeslee, Aubrey Patterson and Amy Whitten. 
 
An executive session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.

It seems very good news that VSN is the chair of this committee; does anyone know anything more about the other members? 


Thank Whomever that Roy Klumb is not a member; any candidate meeting him would come away with a poor image of Mississippi.  VSN, on the other hand, is likely to make a very good first impression.
