I thought EP was tenured in the speech/comm. dept. Is he moving to another dept? Economic Development, perhaps?

And remember not only is the history dept. losing a great  historian, a professor, and a  dept. head but also the head of the Oral History dept. This department is "wurld class" and has the best civil rights oral histories in the nation. That means there is no one left in theO.H. department--first Professor Austin and now Professor Bolton."

Uh, no.  Dr. Stephen Sloan heads up the Oral History Program and has since Austin left.

I thought Professor Bolton was the director and Professor Austin was co-director, or as late as the '03-'04 school year. If not, was this a foreseen departure and he lined up the ducks? (Which I believe is a professional thing to do.)

I see on its website that Sloan is the acting director and they also moved to McCain Library.

Oral history is in very good shape in Professor Sloan's hands.
