There is an interesting lecture on C-SPAN2, Book TV by Jennifer Washburn, the author of University, Inc.: The Corporate Corruption of Higher Education.  Has this work been cited earlier on this board?  It sure sounds as if it is right on point.

An interesting quote from a commentator after the lecture:  The difference in a (corporate controlled) university and a brothel? There are some things they just won't do for money at a brothel. 


It was a joke, I think.
