A very quiet day at chez le Guerre today. A solemn day of going to church, and then coming home to do penance before the electronic calculator. Sacre bleu! Who has invented this income tax, and how can we find and punish him!

Miss Angleterre was of no assistance. She has been at the computer today, reading your admirable and so thoughtful postings. She is particularly enraged at the letter in the newspaper. I reminded Miss Angleterre that in this so great, so free country, one is at perfect liberty to be the complete --- what is that animal? I cannot think, long tail, long ears. We did agree that if the gentleman holds his opinion in the deepest good faith, no matter how we may dislike that, we must respect it. But if the gentleman is kissing the derriere of someone, ah! that is altogether despicable. But how is one to know? Miss Angleterre was most impressed with Professor Berman, although her heart will always belong to Invictus. Do not tell Mrs. Invictus. Miss Angleterre never wishes to complicate anyone's life.

There was no champagne today, on the Good Friday, but I quite look forward to a mimosa with my little Godiva chocolate rabbit on the beautiful Easter morning. For tomorrow there will be some more wrestling with the tres horrible taxes, and possibly a quick spin about town, but when the thunder begins, the yellow 'Vette goes into its garage. Perhaps I should have allowed that nice accounting gentleman to take me to dinner after all.
