I just "tuned in" and found at least six threads that have been kicked this afternoon and evening, some of them kicked several times over the past few days. Is it my imagination, or is this kicking phenomena becoming more common? If these are topics of enduring importance or urgency, wouldn't it be easier to pin them to the top of the list? While the many creative names employed by the kicker(s) are clever and entertaining, I find it a bit annoying to have someone deciding which threads should supercede others. I certainly mean no offense to anyone here, but with limited time available to review the most recent posts each day, the task is greatly complicated when one must weed through innumerable kicked items masquerading as new posts. Thanks for listening, and again, no offense intended.

During "troll storms," worthwhile posts sometimes drop off page 1 too quickly. I sometimes kick a post back up when I feel that this has happened. I know other kickers will bump a post up if it is germane to the content of a newer thread.
And at least one troll loves to kick stuff up which allows him/her/it to raise an old questionable thread while burying newer ones.
But "Iggie" does raise a question: Is there some etiquette that we ought to observe regarding kicking?
Yes. The poster name should say "Kick" or have the word "kick" in it -- I am not up on sports enough to know who these noms represent, and I think they're new posters. It gets frustrating.
And I kick old threads up for relevance when someone is looking for specific information that has been previously discussed on the website. With the exception of OldTimer's recent complaint, this service seems to have been appreciated by regular board members.
