Response to Change in Who Presidents report TO

The change in how Presidents interact with the Board is quite interesting. Of course, our focus is on how it will affect SFT. However, I am wondering how the Presidents of State and Ole Miss and other campuses are viewing this change. It has been suggested that this change has been contemplated for some time, but most of us believe it is a change to deal with SFT. If so, this is one of the rare occasions where USM is the tail that is wagging the dog. If it is not specifically geared toward SFT, what facets have led to this change?

Many boards of trustees in other states have this set-up. I think it was a move the board could make to reduce their SFT-related hassle and play it off like they are upgrading to the "industry standard."

While I have an unpopular opinion, I believe that this is a sign that SFT will be around for at least one more year, at the end of which the board will make a decision. I don't see them running him off before this term is up.

I agree with you, Cossack. I don't expect ST to leave before his term--nor do I expect the basic funding problems of USM (which is see as fueling the entire, sad, spectacle of the Thames era) to change, ever.

Virginia did indicate it was because of the USM/SACs issue that was the primary issue behind the change. Apparently this system is also very mushc like Montata's (where Crofts was last). Think the guy hasn't had a major effect in the few months he has been on board?
