I would bet that the preponderance of the people meeting Thursday send their children to universities other than USM. Their interest is not in making USM "better". They are dedicated to making it worse because they have a lexicographic ordering of priorities. Priorities numbers one through ten are to keep SFT in the job and sit and watch the destruction of USM. Not even this group is so dense as not to understand that SACS will never reaccredit USM so long as SFT is president. Nor are they so sheltered that have not heard the Auburn story. It unlikely that this group really believes that SFT will do good things for USM. As soon as USM is sufficiently destroyed, they will drop SFT like a used condom. Fortunately, they are running out of ammo. The list of "good things" that have happened under SFT is pathetic. It has a far side content: the university is disintegrating and they are applauding SFT for raking up the leaves and mowing the grass.
