This is how you get rid of your “trolls.” It could not be any more simple.


 


Almost all of you President-Haters know each other’s identity. Why don’t you just form your own little section on this bulletin board? Set it up to where you and your buddies have to have a password to post. Everybody can read, but they cannot post unless the webmaster gives them a password.  Leave the main page/category alone. Leave it for the general public, for the AAUP members, and for anonymous posters—as it should be. Then you cannot complain about “board disruption”  or  “trolls.”


 


There.  Problem solved.


 


Of course, I know you won’t do this because your real purpose in moderating your supposed “trolls” is that you want to stifle them. You don’t want their opinions heard for two simple reasons: 


 


They are not getting in line with your attack on USM and because they are showing others how wrong and hurtful your attack methods are.

For anyone new to the board I think I should explain that Albert is a Shelby supporter who has been challenged again and again and again to defend Shelby in coherent, well-developed, well-supported terms, yet has REPEATEDLY refused to do so.  Now that Shelby has given you your talking points, Albert, this should not be too difficult.  However, most of us on the board have long since lost respect for you, NOT because you support Shelby but because you have refused to explain why.  Even ol' W.J. Johnson has stepped up to the plate and made that attempt, yet you have chosen to remain a mere snipe(r).  No one takes you seriously.

Albert and anyone else is perfectly free to set up a message board of their very own. There is no reason they have to be limited to this one. There can be a hundred pro-Thames message boards if people want to start and maintain them.

The thing for Albert to do is to fish or cut bait.

Albert is a very valuable contributor to this board.  I was a fence sitter, but I started noticing that the supporters of SFT were either jokers (W. J. Johnson, etc) or like Albert (never make a logical argument).  When I first started someone named "Seeker" would contribute.  Between Seeker and Albert, I learned the meaning of "troll" and now clearly see they have no substance to contribute.  That led me to the question, "Why does anyone support SFT?"  But I'm sorry to say I haven't heard any answers.  A friend of mine is on the Faculty Senate.  She said even the senators who opposed a no confidence vote didn't provide reason to support SFT, but rather reasoned that it would be negative PR and the community wouldn't like the "negative".   All of this locked my conclusion for me.  I’m proud to raise my voice with yours and say, “No Quarter”.
