If this "bragging points" list goes unchallenged, then the faculty can hang it up. Anyone who knows anything about USM knows that most of those points have nothing to do with Thames' actions (right place, right time). A point-by-point refutation MUST appear soon, even if it means taking out a full-page ad in the HA and JCL. If faculty fail to refute these preposterous claims, then it is over for us. We might as well hang the white flag of surrender out.
Now is our opportunity to educate Hattiesburg residents who are fence-sitting about how Thames does business and how he bends the facts to suit his needs. It's time to fish or cut bait.
I was given a check for $100 by an overseas faculty member, the last time we talked about an ad, but events would not slow down long enough to plan such; now would be a good time, and this a clear issue. I suspect many of us would scrape up some bucks.
