Filing a Complaint with SACS
Permalink Closed

I am in the process of filing a complaint with SACS about the private meeting on Sat.  I found the form that can be completed online.  The link is

http://www.sacscoc.org/forms/principle/complaint%20form.doc

Could someone please send me the SACS section that the private meeting violates?  They ask that it be cited in the complaint.

Thanks.

Is this the section to which you are refering?

Principles of Accreditation: Foundations for Quality Enhancement

section 3.2.4  "The governing board is free from undue influence from political, religious, or other external bodies, and protects the institution from such influence".

Here is Jameela's post from another thread.  Now we can find all of the links together.

Right.  See the "Principles of Accreditation," http://www.sacscoc.org/pdf/PrinciplesOfAccreditation.PDF.  According to section 3.2.4., the board should be "free from undue influence from political, religious, or other external bodies," and also should "protect the institution from such influence."

By the way, I was told by a SACS director at another institution that the SACS complaint policy should have been broadly publicized.  (I'm getting back to her on how/when, etc.)  See http://www.sacscoc.org/pdf/complaintpolicy.pdf.  Does anyone remember hearing anything at all about it?

Jameela, the only person I heard about the complaint policy from was a perspicacious colleague.

Joan Exline probably informed the VPs and Deans and left it at that.

NO QUARTER
