A story is going around that MH called and got clearance to attend the coke meeting. Only later they called back and retracted the invite. Anyone else heard?
The FS listserv says that Kevin Walters may mention this in an article he is doing for tomorrow. I wonder how many episodes of this "Sap Opera" we will have playing this week. It's getting hard to get work done.
"Deciding on the guest list was difficult, Lacy said, but organizers wanted to "really make sure that this group of people is knowledgeable on exactly what Southern Miss means to the community."
Perhaps we should each come up with a brief statement expressing our knowledge about exactly what the university means to this community and share it with Ms. Lacy along with our request for an invitation, then compile results.

Since Jan Lacy owns a print shop, printing extra invitations should be no problemo!
One thing that I found so interesting about Myron's de-invitation is that one of the organizers apparently thought it was perfectly OK for Myron to attend. It was only after that individual checked with someone else that the invitation was rescinded (with some embarrassment, I heard).
I think this may mean that some of the organizers/invitees may not be so pro-Thames as we may assume. Honestly, with what I hear at my church, in the doctor's and dentist's office, from my friends who are businesspeople, lawyers, etc., I'm amazed that they found 250 pro-Thames individuals anywhere around here.

Definitely should not assume everyone going is a supporter . . . I have heard of a number of skeptics who got invites . . . .
