Once again, I have been struck by the tremendous number of banners that continue to go up around campus.  It seems so extraordinary!


Freeing the power of the individual by...


1.  covering up truth with propagandist banners


2.  denying students access to knowledge by refusing provide relief to the library budget


3.  locking professors out of their offices (let us all reflect and remember)

Unfortunately, it seems that the only individual whose power has been freed at USM lately is Shelby Thames.

I suggest that we make the banners into books.

We take them down, fold them up VERY small, staple them along one edge, and cut the "pages" open.

Then we donate them to the library, thus ensuring that the library will acquire a few books this year.

NO QUARTER--banners to books!
