Please update your list according to posts on your previous thread - it does us little good to say people are leaving and going such and such a place when it is not true.  Perhaps you should confirm your "information" with the actual parties involved?

BC--

babbs is doing what babbs does. (s)he posts the list, including rumors, and then board consensus helps ferret out inconsistencies. This process has been going on for a while now, so I would suggest that you contribute what facts you can and leave the process alone. I am not aware of anyone on last year's list who was incorrectly labeled at the end of the year.

Well, if we are going to let any troll post that someone is leaving and going to the moon and take it as true then what's the point?  Besides, read my post and my comments on the earlier babbs post - corrections/updates were suggested but not altered for the newest list.  I was trying to do the ferreting job you suggest.  Sorry if I hurt your feelings, but what's wrong with accuracy?

You are obviously new to the board, so I will let your ignorance slide. babbs has been doing this for as long as the board has been in existence. In fact, last year's final post is a sticky on top of the first page.

In a general sense, if you had been paying attention to the board, you would have known this. In a more personal sense, maybe you ought to observe for a while before you post in such a nonproductive manner.

This is the last I will say about this - except to correct errors where I see them - but I was an original Fire Shelby contributor and have lurked about here ever since, so drop the sanctimonious attitude.  I still fail to understand why it is a problem to insist on accuracy.  I realize that all of this board and effort is volunteer and my original post on the older babbs thread was offered in this spirit of cooperative correction and accuracy.  Have you ever thought that posting here that so-and-so is leaving when they are not might threaten their employment future here or with their possible new employer?  Though we can never control who and what is posted on the board, babbs list - beacuse of the herculean and wonderful efforts of last year's list - has an air of dependability that people pay attention to.  I'm just saying that we shouldn't accept rumors so readily, especially when the affected people are available to be asked.

Well, then. That makes it OK. I'm sure you're telling the truth.

Unless this is an imposter (and I don't think it is), I remember Black Cat from the old Fire Shelby days.  I don't think there 's a reason to doubt her/him.  I agree that as much accuracy as possible should be the rule with Babbs' List...we'll continue to do the best we can.

Add Wilbur Moreland, Professor, School of Music--retirement

A real loss.   Wilbur is a wonderful musician, extraordinary teacher, active and conscientious university citizen.  We will miss him.
