I don't live in Hattiesburg so am not well attuned to the USM mindset, other than what I read on this message board. Is it my imagination, or is there a great deal more sniping, in-fighting, and general lack of good cheer of late, especially among posters who in the past have been friendly and mutually supportive? If this is true, what's going on? Someone else made a similar observation yesterday, and speculated that the short tempers stemmed from disappointment over the IHL's failure to step on Thames. Is that it, or does anyone have an alternate theory? It just seems more mean-spirited than ever before, and that's not good. Not good for those who post, and certainly not good for "the cause."
People are tired. People are afraid we may have another year-plus of Shelby. People don't know what to do next. They're crabby and overly sensitive. Also, there is some trolling going on, deliberately setting up trouble. Although I will give Albert this, at least he is an honest troll, and no longer pretends to be our friend. We're still waiting for him to explain his support for SFT. That should be interesting.
You are right about the mood, dear heart. Spring will come, March 5 will pass (anniversaries of unhappy events weigh upon the heart) and maybe the sun will shine.

For the most part, those who post on this message board have come to know each other very well. They are like family. At times they do seem to be very direct with each other. But you will notice that nobody goes away mad.
I agree w/Henry Clay. It's a mixture of frustration and a surge of insurgents (i.e. trolls). Not to worry, things will settle down soon enough, I believe.
