If you missed WDAM at 6:00, be sure to catch it at 10:00. Although there's no news that hasn't already been reported, Klumb gets a lot of camera time talking about how "deliberately and thoroughly" the IHL discussed USM today and IHL's refusal to talk about SFT's contract -- Klumb: "I won't weigh in on that one way or the other," "year and a half to go in contract," etc.-- and also appears in a report on legislative budget hearings where he speaks for himself "personally, not the greater Board of Trustees" on undefined "tough choices" that will "have to be made." SFT speaks, too. "I, I, I could've improved [or "I, I, I could improve"?] I could do things differently. I, uh, [leaning into camera] anybody can always improve. But I don't think I'd give myself an F."

Not only has he earned an F, I would say he has used all his repeat options.

I saw it too info.  I believe Klumb's "body English" gave away more than he said.  Someone on another thread mentioned that they wanted to see him answer questions to study his manners. I think there is most definitely something going on behind the scenes.  Didn’t he say something like the other issues at USM will be addressed after accreditation issues are resolved?

This is all nice analysis.  Human hope is amazing.  It never seems to fade. 


Even if SFT's fate is sealed, what or who is next?  MS is in a HUGE budget crisis.  We do have too many universities to support.  What keeps UM and MSU going are the alumni contributions. 


I love USM and all, but I'm going to be a realist.  All we know at this point is SFT for another year and a half.  That's it. 


Do you think the IHL overall cares?  Magic 8 ball says, hell no.


No more wishful thinking for me.

If Shelby won't give himself an "F," we might as well give up any hope of reducing grade inflation.
