Before I complete my evaluation of Dean Pood, I was curious. The Faculty Senate sent him (and others) a letter on December 9th stating (in part):
At least one senior administrator (Dean Pood) made inaccurate statements and refutable allegations against Dr. Stevenson in a public forum. She had no opportunity to address these allegations. This type of behavior is inappropriate and falls well below what is to be expected from academic leaders.
and then requested an apology.
I realize we have to move on to the crisis d'jour around here-- but did anyone in the administration ever respond to this letter?
Furthermore with the subsequent statement in writing from the Provost to one of the Deans that the university should be competing with the University of Phoenix with an on-line model then it sounds like Dr. Stevenson's comments were certainly justifiable.
