Be a Doubting Thomas if you want, but you can take my credibility (and my sources) to the bank. The memo's real.

Deep Throat, your credibility is safe, and remains impeccable.

J.T., I know the finance position that you speak of, and believe me when I tell you that this memo refers to an economist position from what officials stated in the College.  As it stands now, the finance position is still a no-go.

Speaking of asses, is it just me, or does Grimes come across in these letters as a wurl' class ass?  Is he really this autocratic and abrasive,  or is his charm lost in translation?  Seriously,  I had the impression that he was a respected and well liked faculty member before being elevated to Provost.  Is that not the case?

Emoticon is correct.  The memo on this thread refers to an economics position.

Sorry, J.T., but this is the econ position. The finance position is still on hold, probably indefinitely, given our SACS situation and the new "private sector experience" requirement. This comes directly from "the ghost".

Private sector experience = doing income tax returns for H&R Block in a mall location evenings and weekends.
