Maybe she is behaving like a trustee should behave, particularly a new one. I've noticed that the esteemed Virginia Newton hasn't said anything lately. In fact, Roy Klumb seems to be the only board member who consistently makes noises to the press. Could it be that the rest of them understand that no single trustee can speak for the board & rather than demonstrate their ignorance or incomplete understanding of the facts, they simply keep their mouths shut?
Naw. They're all quiet, because they are busy praying that all of this will just go away & they can return to their core mission, which is downsizing "certain" universities, complying with their twisted interpretation of Ayers & ultimately moving toward the consolidated system they've been pushing for nigh on to 20 years.
I seriously don't think the board is going to do very much until the wheels fall off & they are forced to do something. Of course we conspiracy theoriests contend that the majority of trustees want the wheels to fall off anyway...

Invictus: When you have an administration-hand-picked-dean and the provost duking it out in the media, and there are allegations of willful disregard of SACS guidelines while we are on probation and administrative illegalities in hiring decisions......
There are some here on campus who think the wheels have fallen off.
I am right with Invictus on the "conspiracy theory" which I have, rightfully, advocated from day one over two years ago. The facts will come out in lawsuits, at least "some" facts, unless the plaintiffs settle.
This was THE final attempt to prevent USM from passing MSU and Ole Miss, and the IHL found the perfect pawn, who still does not realize he is doing their bidding on his own behalf. The only problem is that SFT has managed to demolish USM much much much faster and deeper than anyone on the IHL could have wished (Nicholson, Whitten, Colbert, Klumb,et al.ad infinitum.......). Now they are faced with the ultimate endgame which they created, only with a twist. It is all public now that at the IHL's hands, and ONLY their hands, has the complete demolition of Southern Miss been almost totally completed in less than three years !!!!!!!!!!
Joy to the world.
But, hold on....................the cat is out of the bag now and being so publically destroyed may make their initial conspiracy to scale back USM to fourth tier very obvious to the public.
In some ways, this is the FINAL chance the "evil" IHL (and I sincerely mean that for the pro Thames trustees now and before) had to restrain USM. It is over now, after it comes back.
They will now have to bend over backward to put it back where it should be.
We should NOT STAND for the likes of MSU drones like Nicholson/Klumb/Ross etc, or Ole Miss supporters like Whitten (who long for the days of yore when they had their own 13th LaBovouve trustee) to do this ever again to USM.
They need to be exposed for what and who they are.
This is going to have the very opposite result the anti-USM plotters have had the past three decades......and it is great.
