It's true, Tulane defeated USM tonight, 75-72. With the loss, USM falls to 10-12 in Eustachy's first year. At this point, James Green was 12-10 at USM. Keep in mind that Sagarin credits USM with a 7-10 record to date, given the non-1A opponents on the schedule. Heck, Florida State's baseball team has already won 6 games, and will eclipse Eustachy's bunch before the week's out.
At this rate, the Eagles aren't likely to make the C-USA tournament this year. No telling what the resource drain in the AD will be like when Eustachy goes asking this year.
Things are not looking good for the Eagles. My crystal ball tells me that there is a very distinct possibility that Eustachy and Co. will lose out, finishing the season at 10-18.
Hope that new plane gives recruiting the boost it so desperately needs...USM needs to sign the max # of players it can and hope certain boosters' checking accounts hold up.
On another thread several days ago someone mentioned that Shelby has expressed concern that Joye Lee-McNelis isn't turning around the women's basketball program as quickly as he expected, and that he might be inclined to go after a replacement (UConn's Gino Auriemma, possibly , surely they jest). I don't see Eustachy making great progress at this juncture, so why be so quick to pull the plug on McNelis? Sounds like gender discrimination to me on a couple of levels.
Heard some profs talking about this today in a building while making visits. They think it's another instance of not knowing your place in the world. Who would even joke about hiring G.A. from UConn? I mean, that would be like USM trying to hire Mike Kryzezewski (sp?) away from Duke. Never happen. What's more, have you noticed that nobody really questions that Thames said this? It's like everybody knows he's nuts.

Be it a head coach or a professor, I don't think anyone in his/her right mind would leave a Tier 1 institution for a Tier 4 institution.

Googler, don't talk like that. You hurt my feelings. Makes me think. Makes me feel very bad. Makes me want to kick myself. But, take it from, me you are 100% correct.
