Regarding the post on 020605 with subject "Students report your problems with faculty here," who do you think the author is?
Here is my take on who this author is. The author is a white female from 24 to 30 years old. She is majoring in journalism and minoring in history. She has been at USM for almost two years.
I think this because most men will not be offended by the profanity, and I have heard numerous females complain about this in the past. She has used several vocabulary words that I have heard or seen only journalists use. She kind of mentioned journalism and history in the post. She did say she had been at USM for 4 semesters. Her name, which is the name of a very old arcade game, indicates her age.
Anybody else care to take a guess? But also list your reasoning please.
Albert - if your speculations are correct, maybe there'll be a position open with the National Enquirer when the person who initiated that thread graduates. Real investigative reporting does not seem to be that person's forte.
I don't want to close down Albert's thread on Qbert, but I would encourage you, if you're so inclined, to spend your time and powers of reasoning to write a carefully worded message to a newspaper, the IHL, or your legislator. We know better than to fall for Troll Tactic #7: Get your opponents to waste their time on issues irrelevant to their goal. Qbert should be ignored.

Ernie N. Bert,
I appreciate what you are saying. But writing letters such as you mention, and posting on this message board, are not mutually exclusive activities. I have already successfully published in the former. And I am continuing that activity. Do not assume that posters on this message board are inactive in other areas of pursuit regarding this royal mess at USM - newspaper letters-to-the-editor, petition signing, legal defense fund contribution, etc. I see no reason why posting on this message board can't continue to be a secondary activity for me. If there is uniform agreement that we should ignore trolls, however, I will comply.
Like I said on the earlier thread: this is comic relief.
I too suspect a link between Albert and Qbert, but who knows? On my computer, the font size used by both is identical to each other and larger than that used by the rest of us. Coincidence? Could be. I have experienced similar "problems" in the past when I composed in an external word processor, then cut-and-pasted to the board. Maybe Q- and Al- both happened to do that.
I need to go back sometime and see if I can identify those female journalist vocabulary words in the original post. It ain't like I am doing anything particularly constructive anyway.

The Qbert/Albert thing reminds me a little of the games played by "online prof" over the summer. Online Prof would assume other identities in order to ask himself or herself questions.

My font size is set to Arial 12 point. It has nothing to do with cut and paste. This is the default setting in my browser. But thanks all for making my post useless. You succeeded admirably.
Forget about moving the post to the bottom. Why don’t you just delete it?
