Mid-term evaluations set for 5 university presidents

The state College Board will do mid-term evaluations for five university heads this year.

Delta State President John Hilpert and Jackson State President Ronald Mason Jr. are tentatively scheduled for evaluations in February. Alcorn State President Clinton Bristow Jr. and University of Mississippi Chancellor Robert Khayat are tentatively scheduled for March. Mississippi State President Charles Lee is tentatively scheduled for April.

They will be asked to describe the progress they've made toward achieving goals; changes that have occurred since their last evaluation; plans for addressing major challenges in the next four years; and the level of success in achieving board goals that include securing stable state funding, implementing the Ayers settlement and providing high-quality instructional and support programs.

They also will be asked to identify major institutional goals and objectives and personal career goals for the next four years, describe how they attempt to deal with work-related stress, and indicate if they have a regular exercise program and when they had a complete physical.

One president who said communication with the faculty was such a high priority hasn't sent a love letter in over two months now.  Must be a slow time with nothing going on!  Certainly we can expect one soon.
